So what is that thing called when you feel sick all day and you start getting fat? You know, people try to call part of it morning sickness but it should really be called all day sickness? People don't tell you the truth about these things. Well, let me tell you, it is no fun when you throw up at the thought of food, because, who doesn't love food? And it is no fun when you have a super snifffer sense of smell and can smell things from a mile away and it makes you gag, say for instance, people's stinky breath. I would offer them a piece of gum but I am using it as anti-hurl medicine. Anyway, for those who have already had kids, you know what I'm talking about. For those of you who haven't, you didn't hear all this bad stuff from me. And for those of you who haven't caught on, I'm pregnant:)

Yep. That is all I have to say. Our puppy farts and boy do they stink. Bad. They smell worse than sammy's (my dog at mum and dad's) and his smell like a skunk, so that is saying something. I think we need to change the dog food. That is first on our list of things to try. Even though Cooper doesn't control his urge to fart, he is such a good puppy. He is probably chewing something up while I am here on the couch posting, but all I have to say is no and take it away and then he stops. And I didn't even go to dog training school to know that. It just comes natural I guess. If you guys need a picture of our little stinker, go to Brit's blog. She just couldn't help posting about him too.

Train all the Way Baby!

So a little bit ago we got to go to see Train at the Depot in Salt Lake. Shawn won tickets off the radio. Twice. One time he pretended to be his friend Jake so we went with him and his wife Kelly. It was so awesome! We weren't sure we would get to go because the lead singer Pat Monahan was sick and they had cancelled the concert before this one. They pulled off the show though and it was awesome! In the video you can kinda tell his voice is not as strong as usual but he is still an amazing singer! And boy can he perform! It was definitely the funnest (most fun?) concert I have been to. Although OneRepublic was pretty good too:)

Ok, so now that the last post has been on forever and it is such an ugly picture of me, I have to explain why I was under there. Our house is freezing cold and I had just done the laundry so it was still all warm and I wanted to get warm too! That is the last time I ask Shawn to surprise me with a post:) I hope you have all been enjoying the tons and tons of posts we've posted in this last little bit...not! I'll get some pics up soon....(my kind of soon, so like in a month or so)

Wowy wow wow! I almost forgot we had a blog! I don't get on the computer as much now that school's out for the summer. Shawn should surprise me with a post. Well, surprise you guys too cuz surprises are fun! Nothing much has been going on with us except I guess I should mention that Shawn just finished grad school. What a smarty pants! Now he can help me with my homework once that starts up again. Ew I just mentioned school one too many times. Well if anyone wants to party this summer than invite us k? I promise we are not party poopers:)

Hi everyone who looks at our blog! So pretty much hi Brit and Natalie! Just kidding, I don't want all you other people who don't comment to feel left out. Actually, I think people just don't know we have a blog, but that's ok with me--reduces the risk of blog stalkers. Anyway, I am in the process of avoiding some homework for a class I really hate, so I am finally posting some pictures of our vacation to California! PS there aren't that many because I don't know if I am doing it right. There used to be six then I accidentally deleted two while trying to get the layout set up. So maybe I'll add them again if someone tells me how to do it:)

Brooke is incredible at the sport they call soccer! I used to think that soccer was, well, for those not as advanced... however, Brooke as opened up my eyes! I think it's not so bad anymore and I LOVE watching it! (Well, I love watching her!) Just look at this video, she's AWESOME!

Hmmm...now don't even think of looking at the date of that last post. We've been busy;) I was waiting to post pictures but I can't post pictures on this lovely blog before they're loaded onto the computer and we can't load them onto the computer before we take them! It's all a process folks. Ok really we have taken a lot. During the weekend of one of those Monday holidays in January we took a little trip to California! We visited Shawn's old mission companion Jared Stahl who lives like an hour north of San Francisco. We got a tour of the city from a local! It was so much fun. Besides the normal routine of life, that's about all that's gone on as of our last post. Oh yeah, and Valentine's Day! How could I forget. Shawn got me a little stuffed puppy because we want one but our landlordies won't let us have one even though they have a dog. How rude. I said to them, "I would clean up the pee right away I promise," but I wasn't persuasive enough I guess. Just kidding I didn't say that to them. I don't want them to think they got crazies livin in the basement! Okey dokey next post will be pictures:)

Church Ball Yo

Last Thursday Shawn had a church ball game. What? You didn't know there was old man basketball? Well there is, there SO is. They all got their game faces, but not all of them got game. I sit up on the stage and try not to let them see me laughing. You know how serious this game is to them. Oh and by the way, I am the only spectator. I might as well shout, "Yep, we're newlyweds everyone!" I really do like going because Shawn is fun to watch. He can shoot and pass the ball well. After all, he was MVP in ninth grade:) He's kept up his skills. And I have to admit there are some pretty good older guys that play too. I hope our ward team will stop forfeiting for lack of players, because otherwise they will be kicked out. Yeah, it is possible to be kicked out of church ball. I'm learning all kinds of new things! Older and wiser every day baby.

Mindless New Year Mumbo Jumbo...

So, our year has started out fantastically! We enjoyed a nice quiet New Year's Eve at the Dickson home. ;) After our staying up until all ours of the night we managed to peel ourselves out of bed and attempt to stay awake for the first day of 2009. Our day was eventful. We went and saw Marley and Me, it was par at best. Then we played games at my folks house (the Motes home). Since then our lives have continued at the status quo. So, I was just thinking that unfortunately with the starting of a new year, there are inevitably more "startings" that are really not that joyful. For example, the starting of school is readily approaching, in fact, it begins tomorrow, and I am not really all that thrilled about it. It means more worthless (we'll see if that's still the adjective I use when I'm in the work force) homework and time consuming, pointless, mumbo jumbo. Oh well. Another starting we don't look forward to is another months rent. This, unfortunately, plagues us at the beginning of every month, not just the beginning of a new year, but it just seemed like now was a good time to show my distain for paying out money. However, don't fret, it's not all doom and gloom and not all the "startings" are bad. The starting of the new year also brings the starting of more glorious time I get to spend with my GORGEOUS wife Brooke! :) We just had a game night last night with some of our friends and it was a blast! Anyway, it just goes to show that life really is great!

So I went on Joni and Dave's blog to find all ya'lls blog addresses to add to our list, but I got sidetracked and kept clicking on links to people's blogs that I only kind of know. Well now I know them ha ha...yeah. So you've probably all noticed that our little 'blogeruney' isn't password protected. When we first started it, I was about to tell everyone the password (because I thought you would need it) but it was the password to sign in to our blog. That would have been pretty fun for you guys huh? Pretending to be us, posting false information, changing the cool layout that I needed Alexis's help to set up. I'm only eight years older than her, give me a break. It's about time Shawn and I start posting more cuz we ain't getting any younger! Time flies when you're having fun and I am having a blast being married to my honey bunches. He's the best, and I won't even try to argue will you guys cuz I know I'll win. Ok have fun reading our blog!

The Beginning...

We've decided to start a blog. Now when we say "didn't you read our blog?" we'll mean it! ;) Seriously though, it's kind of creepy that everyone can read anything that's happening in anyone's life if they're blogging it. That's why this little blogeruny is password protected. Only the few privileged get to read up on the everyday happenings of our oh so interesting lives. :) For starters, we will inform you on our beautiful beginning. We got married on November 21, 2008 in the Bountiful Temple. For those of you looking at the calendars, that was all of a month ago. For our honeymoon we went to CANCUN MEXICO! It was a blast! We went snorkeling, visited one of the new seven wonders of the world, Chichen Itza, and gorged ourselves with all the delicious (well, delicious isn't necessarily the word, more like abundant) food! Since our honeymoon we've settled into our cozy basement apartment and began our daily routines. I, Shawn, substitute for the school district while I work on my MBA and my lovely wife Brooke works at a dental office while she earns her early childhood education degree. Thus far our experience together as the Motes family has been choice. I'll bet by this point we've got you hooked and you can't wait to read more about our enchanting lives huh? Well, you're going to have to wait until next time when we allow you all to know....... what we ate for dinner!
